These Brown Butter Chai Blondies are chewy, buttery, packed with warm chai spices, and finished with a sweet vanilla chai glaze. A delicious fall-scented treat that brings together the flavors of chai and a chewy blondie.
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper. 2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it smells nutty and the milk solids are golden brown. Pour it into a mixing bowl and let cool for 10–15 minutes. 3. Whisk the brown sugar and granulated sugar into the brown butter. Add the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla and whisk until smooth. 4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. 5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined. 6. Spread the batter evenly into your parchment-lined pan and bake for 22–28 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. Don’t overbake if you want that chewy center! 7. Let the blondies cool completely. 8. Whisk together all of the glaze ingredients, drizzle over the cooled blondies, and let the glaze set before slicing.
